Bridging the gap between drill, RnB, house and British rap, genre-bending Octavian broke onto the scene in 2017 with his Drake-endorsed track “Party Here”. Born in France and raised in South London, he won a scholarship to the now famous BRIT School in Croydon, whose previous alumni included Amy Winehouse, Adele and Jessie J, but soon found himself living on the streets at the age of 15. Inspired by a wide range of music, his track “Party Here” became a home-grown hit within the scene, described by Pigeons & Planes as “one of the best introductions to an artist we’ve experienced all year” and awarded Pitchfork’s Best New Track accolade. It wasn’t long before Drake was quoting the rapper on his own social media accounts. Octavian’s debut album Spaceman appeared in September 2018 to universal acclaim and helped him secure a BET nomination for Best New International Act. With features from Skepta, A$AP Ferg, Theophilus London and more, his latest mixtape Endorphins is the next huge step in the evolution of this breakout artist.
